Six
individuals have been apprehended by the Bono East Regional Police Command
after a highway robbery on the Portor-Gulumpe Highway. Additionally, the full
GH¢300,000 that was taken from a businessman was recovered by the officers.
The
event happened close to the Portor Police Barrier on July 19, 2026, in the
evening. When police at the barrier learned about the robbery, they moved
swiftly. Four suspects fled into the jungle when they got there, but
authorities were able to capture Abdul Sadat Ali, 24. Samad Issahaka, a second
suspect, was apprehended during questioning.
A
startling inside job was discovered after more research. Yahaya Seidu, the
businessman, was on his way to purchase livestock when Samad Issahaka, his
driver, disclosed the substantial amount of money he was carrying. Issahaka had
followed them from Offinso and plotted with five others to stage the robbery
using a toy firearm.
All
four of the surviving individuals were apprehended as local patrol teams and
counterterrorism officers pursued the escaping suspects into the jungle. The
entire sum that was stolen was successfully recovered by the police. Now in
jail, all six suspects are helping with investigations.
