On Monday night, a Brussels Airlines flight to Lomé had to return to Accra International Airport due to a mechanical problem that arose shortly after takeoff. At 6:06 p.m., Flight SN278 departed Accra; however, the crew discovered an issue while in flight. They made the decision to return in order to keep everyone safe, and at 6:18 p.m., the plane was safely landed.
The Ghana Civil Aviation
Authority emphasized that passenger safety is of utmost importance and
commended the flight crew for adhering to appropriate safety regulations. The
airline canceled the flight after the incident. In accordance with consumer
protection laws, officials are now providing assistance to impacted passengers.
The airline is currently
looking into the technical issue under aviation authorities' supervision.
