President John Dramani Mahama has indicated that numerous key airport development projects are getting forward without needing on direct government money. Rather, the Ghana Airports Company Limited and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority's balance sheets are the only source of funding for these revolutionary improvements.
President Mahama stressed
that the government has not spent a single cedi on these projects while
speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony for a new multipurpose parking lot and hotel
complex at Accra International Airport. A contemporary control tower, Terminal
2 renovations, a transfer concourse connecting Terminals 2 and 3, and a new
entertainment and hotel area are among the major projects financed under this
self-sustaining approach.
The President praised
contractors, agency boards, and the Ministry of Transportation for spearheading
these initiatives on their own. He pointed out that this strategy, which
enables state-owned institutions to take advantage of their own financial strength,
is exactly in line with his vision of sustainable national growth. When
finished, these cutting-edge facilities will improve visitor experiences and
strengthen Ghana's standing as Africa's top aviation center.
