At Protective Stadium, Birmingham Legion FC lost 3-2 to North Carolina FC in a dramatic USL Championship match. Moses Mensah, a Ghanaian defender, made a significant contribution despite the defeat, coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute and setting up Birmingham's second goal.
Ezra Armstrong gave North Carolina the early lead in the eighth minute of play. With Tyler Pasher's help, Enzo Martñnez of Birmingham answered in the 32nd minute, levelling the score just before halftime. But Oalex Anderson's well-placed strike in the 59th minute gave North Carolina their lead back, and Armstrong's third goal two minutes later made it 3-1.
Mensah Mensah made an impact late in the match when he skilfully passed the ball to Rida Zouhir, who gave Birmingham a response with a strong effort from outside the area in the 89th minute. North Carolina managed to hold on for the win in spite of the late charge. The next game for Birmingham is scheduled for October 13th against Las Vegas Lights FC.
