In the Eastern Region on Friday night, a bus carrying instructors and pupils from Kwahu Tafo Senior High School was involved in a serious accident near Akyem Ettukrom along the Osiem to Bunso road.
At the time of the collision, the pupils were travelling back from Koforidua following their participation in a zonal sporting event.
Emergency personnel swiftly intervened to save a number of injured children and other bus passengers. For medical care, they were sent to the adjacent Osiem Hawa Hospital.
The precise reason for the mishap is still unknown. Photos taken at the scene show the bus upside down in a bush, with students visible climbing out of the windows. To find out what caused the mishap, local authorities are looking into the incident.
