The proprietor of the well-known Tamale apparel store Suad
Collections was detained by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and a
joint security task team on suspicion of dealing in illegal drugs.
The defendant was allegedly discovered in possession of
2,250 wraps of what was believed to be cannabis and large amounts of opiates
during a targeted operation in the Northern Regional capital.
The arrest, according to NACOC officials, is a component of
the region's continuous efforts to combat the illegal drug trade.
The seized materials have been sent for laboratory analysis,
and the suspect is still being held and helping investigators.
The public has been reassured by authorities of their
dedication to combating drug trafficking and associated offences nationwide.
