The "No-Fees-Stress" academic policy's application deadline has been extended to August 7, 2025, according to the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
The Fund clarified in a statement that the delay is intended
to allow applicants more time to finish their submissions.
The SLTF cautioned that this is the last extension and
encouraged qualified students to apply before the deadline in order to take
advantage of the policy.
The goal of the programme, which is a realisation of President
John Mahama's campaign pledge, is to guarantee that no student is excluded from
tertiary education because they are unable to pay the tuition.
In order to propel Ghana's development agenda and promote
inclusive growth, the president expressed hope that the effort will contribute
to the development of a more educated and talented populace.
For first-year students enrolling in universities and
education schools, the scheme offers upfront tuition assistance. Additionally,
it opens the door for recipients to obtain student loans in order to finance
their further studies in the future.
Additionally, Government Communications Minister Felix
Kwakye Ofosu reported that at least 19,500 students had their fees reimbursed.
Additionally, as of July 1, the SLTF verified that 19,703 students have
obtained second-semester loans.
