Following his arrest for suspected tax compliance
violations, fans of dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known by
his stage name Shatta Wale, flocked to the Economic and Organised Crime Office
(EOCO) on Thursday to seek his release.
As long as all legal conditions are met, EOCO officials
stated that the musician has been granted bail in the amount of GH₵10 million,
with two sureties to be justified.
Samuel Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale's
media manager, revealed in a social media video that the musician's management
and legal team are making all efforts to comply with the bail requirements.
Additionally, he issued a warning against false information,
making it clear that the EOCO investigation is only related to taxes on Shatta
Wale's yellow Lamborghini and other facets of his business activities, not
other online rumours.
On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Shatta Wale was taken into
custody as a result of EOCO's larger enquiries into luxury automobiles and tax
liabilities.
