Unknown persons have entirely damaged the statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which is located at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi
The statue was first damaged in December 2024 on its left leg before being unveiled on November 6, 2024, in remembrance of former President Nana Addo. When a huge hole was found at that time, some concerned folks fixed it right away.
In any case, the statue was discovered totally overturned and ruined in the early hours of January 13, 2025, with severe damage extending from the head to the knee.
According to reports, the event happened at 1:30 am. To find and capture the people responsible for this act, authorities have launched an inquiry.
Although the statue's purpose is still unknown, it has generated discussion among the public since it was erected, with some locals doubting its applicability in light of the region's stalled projects and unmet government commitments.
Some people are blaming the incumbent NDC administration for motivating their followers to remove the statue of the former President of Ghana.
