Earlier this month, Joe Budden was prosecuted after investigators said that he was seen in full nude on Ringcam surveillance outside his flat by their neighbour.
Budden was charged with lewdness on December 4 in Edgewater, New Jersey, according to court documents that TMZ was able to get.
After the complaint surfaced online, the Edgewater Police Department issued a statement on December 30th, detailing how officers were summoned to a nearby apartment complex at around 7:21 AM.
According to EPD, the caller's Ring camera informed them that someone was outside their house. After reviewing the video, they say Budden was there, completely nude.
Before returning to his flat in the same building, the caller claims the footage shows Budden repeatedly trying to enter a code into the resident's door keypad. According to the court complaint, the resident and two young kids used their phones to watch the crime in real time.
By the way, Budden recently discussed his problems with his neighbours in public, saying he was evicted from his flat for continuing to record podcast episodes there.
Additionally, he has previously admitted to being a sleepwalker on his podcast. Nima Ameri, Esq., of Ameri Law Firm, Joe's lawyer, retaliated against the Edgewater Police Department by telling TMZ, "The press release from Police Chsaddens Mr. Budden.
For weeks, Mr. Budden has been waiting for the processing of his cross-complaints, which feature much more serious charges, including potential felony charges against the individuals who brought them against him.
We believe that instead of sitting on those, the Chief took advantage of his time to obtain some free PR. Instead of escalating accusations of unruly conduct, Chief Martin ought to pursue notoriety by engaging in noteworthy policing.
"The accusations against Mr. Budden is a minor charge, not even leading to an arrest," Ameri continued. Mr. Budden is eager to refute this accusation in court, not in the media. We believe that the Chief's remarks are racially motivated and reckless.
According to our research, the police website has not featured a single press release regarding a disorderly person charge this year.
We believe that his decision to pick out Mr. Budden was self-serving and driven by Mr. Budden's race and notoriety.
