When Spice, a Jamaican dancehall icon, opted to sell plantain chips, a common street snack in Accra, she made a significant impression alongside Ghanaian artist Stonebwoy
In addition to balancing a tray of chips on her head like a real street seller, the animated performer actively participated in a boisterous hawking session with onlookers.
The event's high point, however, was when Spice paid the hawkers in US dollars rather than Ghanaian cedis after her brief but amusing time as a seller.
The sellers were overjoyed by her sudden generosity and applauded her as she gave out the money. However, Spice is in Ghana to work with Stonebwoy on the music video for his 2024 Up and Runnin6 album's hit song, Jille & Whine.
The Jamaican musician earlier stated in an interview that she first learnt about Ghana via Stonebwoy's music and has since developed a respect for the country's culture and people.
Spice's relationship with Ghana is strengthened by this light-hearted exchange, which demonstrates her readiness to accept the lively street culture and life of Ghana.
The song video, which promises to showcase the two artists' synergy, is eagerly anticipated by fans.
