Kwame Poku, a Ghanaian midfielder, wins consecutive Player of the Month honours in England

Kwame Poku, a former midfielder for Ghana U23, won the League One Player of the Month award in September and successfully defended it in October after an incredible run with Peterborough United.

"I am obviously delighted to win the award and over the moon to be able to win it back-to-back. I am happy with how things have been going, and it is all about hard work and trying to be as consistent as I can," Poku said after accepting the honour.

"Even though I didn't score as many goals as I did the previous month, I still enjoy setting goals just as much as I do scoring them.

Hopefully, I can maintain those figures throughout November! The Ghanaian's commitment to the team this season has been commended by Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson.

"Winning Player of the Month twice in a row is an incredible accomplishment for Kwame and a lovely acknowledgement of his performance.

He has been a serious threat since building on his September performance with another excellent month in October. He's in a great situation right now and is coming up with and scoring goals for us," Ferguson said.
