Dr. Randy Abbey has joined the Black Stars Management Committee, according to Henry Asante Twum, the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) director of communications.
This follows the Black Stars' three-point finish at the bottom of Group F, which prevented them from qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition.
He said the decision was taken following the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, in which the team lost for the second time in a row in the group stage.
He stated that even though Mark Addo remains the Chairman of the Management Committee, upon a review after AFCON in Ivory Coast, Randy Abbey has been added to the Committee.
He informed Asempa FM that Randy Abbey had joined the Black Stars Management Committee.
"After the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, there were some reviews of the team's performance, so the FA decided to retain Mark Addo, Akwesi Agyeman, and now Randy Abbey has joined the team management committee," he said.
In the meantime, Dr. Randy Abbey, a member of the Ghana Football Association's Executive Council, chairs the Black Satellites' Management Committee.
