An important milestone in the Central Bank's efforts to improve operations and service delivery has been reached with the commissioning of the Bank of Ghana's (BoG) new, state-of-the-art headquarters in Accra by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, important government representatives, executives from the Bank of Ghana, and well-known personalities from Ghana's financial industry attended the commissioning event.
President Akufo-Addo stressed in his speech how crucial the new facility is to updating Ghana's financial system.
"This new headquarters will serve as the new command centre for the bank's operations," he said, praising the Bank of Ghana for its dedication to efficiency and innovation in its operations. encouraging creativity, teamwork, and quality in its national service.
"The bank's ability to promote important financial sector reforms, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and improve the investment climate for both domestic and international stakeholders will also be strengthened," he said.
It is anticipated that the state-of-the-art facility will improve the Central Bank's ability to efficiently monitor and control Ghana's financial system.
It also reflects the government's overarching goal of fostering economic stability and establishing favourable conditions for the expansion of the financial industry.
