The team is doomed—Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu After Black Stars' loss to Sudan

After losing against Sudan, former player Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu thinks the Black Stars' future is dismal. On Tuesday at the Martyrs of February Stadium, Ghana's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers ended in a 2-0 loss to the Falcons in the second leg of their match.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, the first leg had concluded in a scoreless tie. Sudan's Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud and Mohammed Abdelrahman scored two goals in rapid succession to give his team the victory after the first half ended without a goal.

With just two points from four games, the Black Stars are currently ranked third in Group F, making it unlikely that they will make it to the tournament in Morocco in light of this defeat.

"The team is doomed," Agyemang-Badu, who had previously played for Asante Kotoko and Udinese Calcio, said in an interview with Accra-based Onua FM, reacting to the loss with dismay.

Ghana needs to win against the already qualified Angola and Niger in order to maintain their prospects of making it to the tournament the following year.

They also need to hope that Sudan will falter against the same opponents. November is when the Black Stars are expected to play their last Group F games.
