According to a statement from his club, winger Ibrahim Sadiq of AZ Alkmaar has been called up to Ghana's squad for the forthcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

Sadiq's presence was confirmed by AZ Alkmaar while confirming their players on international duty this month, despite the fact that he was not included in the Black Stars coach Otto Addo's team announcement last Friday.

The statement from AZ Alkmaar stated, "The Ghanaian national team will play Sudan on October 10 at the Accra Sports Stadium and again on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya. The third round of the Africa Cup of Nations is also approaching."

This is a belated call-up, possibly due to dropouts from the original squad, though there has been no formal word on any adjustments. Sadiq will be playing for Ghana for the first time as a senior.

In eight games this season, he has four goals and three assists. He was the national representative for the U-17 and U-20 teams in the past.
