The Assin Fosu District Court put a 48-year-old father in police detention on Friday after he whipped his 20-year-old daughter for breaking a padlock after she arrived home late.
Abraham Amoh Blankson, the defendant, is expected to appear in court on Thursday to answer allegations of assault and causing damage. Inspector Matilda Osaah Buabeng, the prosecutor, asked the court to give the police enough time to conduct additional investigations, which led to this ruling.
The complaint is Blankson's daughter, Esther Amoh Blankson, a hairdresser apprentice who lives in Old-Praso, a neighbourhood of Twifo Praso in the Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region, according to the court, which is presided over by Mr. Abdul Majid Iliasu.
According to Insp. Buabeng, the victim, who lived with the father, left the house in the morning to go to work and came back on Saturday evening.
According to what the court heard, Blankson changed the door's lock after waiting in vain for the victim. According to Inspector . Buabeng, the accused became enraged and told the daughter to go back to her origins when she begged for the keys.
According to the prosecution, the daughter broke the locks and went into the room after becoming irate. Insp. Buabeng added that Blankson threatened to physically attack his daughter after realising the padlock was broken.
According to the prosecution, the victim temporarily sought safety in her stepmother's home. Additionally, according to Insp. Buabeng, the victim discovered that her father had stolen GH¢360.00 from her purse when she got home.
According to what the court heard, the father refused to give the daughter her money back until she had replaced the broken padlock. According to Insp. Buabeng, the victim scuffed in response to her father's command and left the room where her father and his staff were present.
According to the prosecution, this infuriated the accused, who then viciously beat the daughter with an electrical line, injuring her.
